Comparative analysis of sports consumption habits in Hungary, Poland and Germany

Abstract Background The so-called sports consumption models are looking for the factors that influence spending of households. This paper aims to examine Hungarian, Polish and German households’ expenditures which can be an important indicator physical activity sporty lifestyle. Methods Surveying households in three countries (Hungary, Poland Germany) has been conducted with a self-designed questionnaire. We have used descriptive bivariate non-parametric parametric statistical methods: (1) χ 2 test, Mann-Whitney test Kruskal-Wallis checking relationship between sociodemographic variables (2) independent sample t-test ANOVA differences expenditures. Results Our research concluded men, especially previous athletes, exercise more than women those who no history as registered athletes. choice venues is obviously different sample. Members study population spend most on services while they least equipment. highest rates compared other two countries.
